The Gutsy Walk is the Foundation’s signature fundraising initiative, having raised over $1.9M nationally last year.  The event is held in almost 80 locations across the country and is driven largely by volunteer committees.  The Calgary Gutsy Walk is the largest event in the province, raising over $130,000 with 200 participants. 

The Chapter Development Coordinator/Fundraiser will be responsible for the planning, managing and executing of Gutsy Walk in 9 cities in Alberta.  The ideal candidate will be highly motivated to grow the Alberta contributions to CCFC by seizing untapped opportunities in this vast marketplace.  The individual will enjoy cultivating relationships through interaction with volunteers, participants, donors, vendors and corporate prospects.  The Chapter Development Coordinator/Fundraiser will have a proven track record of events-based fundraising with experience soliciting corporate sponsorships.  The individual must be a resourceful and strategic thinker, highly organized and energetic with a keen attention to detail.   The individual in this role will work on a day-to-day basis with the Manager, Field Operations who is located at the National Office in Toronto and various volunteer committees on the planning and fundraising aspect of Gutsy Walk.  This is a Calgary home based office position.

Responsibilities:
• Provide ongoing stewardship of existing relationships with event sponsors, team captains and VIPs to increase revenue and participation in key fundraising initiatives
• Identify, cultivate and solicit corporate sponsorships in the Alberta
• Create new initiatives/opportunities to raise awareness and dramatically grow revenue
• Work with volunteers to plan and coordinate all event logistics and where applicable manage 3rd party vendors
• Monitor and report event revenue and costs to ensure balanced budget
• Negotiate with vendors to optimize best value, including gift in kind donations
• Execute on local awareness campaigns and recruit attendees for Calgary Education Symposiums
• Work closely with volunteer taskforce committees
• Recruit, motivate, train and support volunteers through training and everyday interactions
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
 Fundraising and Volunteer Management Certificate, post secondary degree or equivalent experience
 3 years fundraising or sales experience, proven ability to grow and expand donor base
 Excellent time management skills
 Ability to work with volunteer committees and key stakeholders
 Highly detailed, organized, and ability to multi-task and prioritize items 
 Some evening and weekend work required
 Drivers license and vehicle required for local travel
 Occasional regional and national travel required

Development Coordinator - Corporate Events

The individual in this role is responsible and accountable to assist the Manager, Corporate Relations and Signature Events with the coordination, support and strategic development of CCFC’s national development programs.  The successful candidate will be an effective problem-solver with an aptitude to foresee long term program execution through analysis of a work back schedule.  You will coordinate and support the national fundraising program (GUTSY WALK) through data analysis, material collateral management and implementation of incentive fulfillment.  In addition, you will assist with the development and implementation of national corporate partnerships including sponsorship, cause-related marketing and philanthropic giving programs.

Responsibilities:
• Support the national fundraising programs (GUTSY WALK and M&M Meat Shops) through data analysis, education and training, planning, implementation and execution in partnership with the National Field Operations team.
• Assist with the creation, management and execution of event plans across all event operational components to support the National Field Operations team members, volunteers and stakeholders while managing strict time deadlines.
• Analyze data (through proper business reviews) to provide insight and strategies for program progress and growth opportunities.  Analyze the growth of sponsorships, individual and teams (corporate and family) seeking trends to assist all sites in growing their events in line with short and long term organizational plans.
• Coordinate and manage all national communications to participants and volunteers.  Manage mail merge process for special mailings produced in house and work with the Development Team Production Coordinator to manage the direct mail program with our supplier.
• Act as first level support member to problem solve and trouble shoot for internal and external stakeholders.  This may include responses to event related information seekers through various channels (website, telephone, e-mail, outside suppliers).
• Assist with the development of national program collateral materials including but not limited to determining appropriate pieces, content for print and web, incentive prize selection and distribution etc.
• Responsible to assist with the identification and partnership of potential national corporate sponsors to explore and develop innovative leveraging opportunities that will generate financial and gift-in-kind support to establish CCFC as the foundation of choice for sponsorship engagement.
• Actively administer and document the account management process partnering with Regions and Chapters to assist with the facilitation of account reviews, strategy development and engagement for key and emerging accounts.  Maintain all information (print and electronic) on our partners to ensure that all interactions are recorded in CCFCs database.
• Assist with the development and research existing chapter revenue generating activities in order to identify synergies and best practices that can be used towards the creation of a new national program

Qualifications:
• 3-5 years related experience within a charitable / not-for-profit organization, fund raising, marketing or event coordination environment
• Post-secondary education in related field (fundraising, marketing, communications, event planning)
• Excellent computer skills - Proficient in Word, Excel, Internet, Outlook, PowerPoint and familiarity with fundraising software an asset
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, interpersonal / customer service skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail while working at a fast pace
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects
• Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Ability to work professionally and productively with outside service providers
• Bilingualism an asset (French)
• Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation an asset

Manager, Volunteer Engagement

Reporting to the COO, the Manager of Volunteer Engagement is responsible for leading the execution of the volunteer engagement strategy for the Foundation. This exciting opportunity supports a key strategic priority by helping to define and foster a truly volunteer centric culture.    This position will focus on developing systems, programs and cross functional processes that focus on enhancing the experience for Foundation volunteers with a primary focus on community based volunteers.

Responsibilities:

1.  Strategy Development
     •  Work with the COO to develop annual implementation plans to support the overall volunteer engagement strategy
     •  Provide ongoing research and development in volunteer best practices for implementation aligned with CCFC strategy and business planning
     •  Establish regular mechanisms to evaluate volunteer satisfaction and retention; develop and implement action plans for improvement
     •  Act as a volunteer engagement champion for the Foundation
     •  Ensure accuracy of community volunteer policies, processes and materials.
2. Program Development and Management
     • Develop and manage implementation of volunteer development programs to  maximize volunteer satisfaction and engagement in support of

     • Develop effective community recruitment programs in response to assessment of gaps and priorities with a focus on consistency in approach
       and customization in execution. 
     • Ensure strong volunteer management data processes and systems are in place and in alignment with overall Foundation strategic needs.

     • Identify and lead implementation of key opportunities to enhance community volunteer engagement including for community volunteer forums,
       conferences or other engagement events at regional or provincial levels

       and inventory of volunteer recognition tools

3.  Relationship Management
     • Provide leadership to CCFC volunteer councils
     • Act as volunteer development partner to the Regional Team, to identify, diagnose and propose solutions to medium and longer-term issues.

Manager, Finance

Reporting to the CFO, the Manager of Finance is responsible for the day to day management of the finance department including supervision of staff.   This position will provide financial reporting, oversee the accounts payable and payroll functions as well as office administration.

Responsibilities:

Supervision
• Supervises the day-to-day activities of the finance department including general accounting, accounts payable, payroll and office administration
• Responsible, through the CFO, for all staff matters including development and evaluation.
• Acts as backup to the CFO in their absence
• Supervises the day to day administration functions including reception, purchasing, contract management, facilities

Reporting and Analysis
• Responsible for the production of the monthly operating statements
• Assists the CFO in the coordination of the year end process and external audit
• Maintains the general ledger of accounts
• Develops operational reports as required by management
• Undertakes detailed analysis covering operational and financial performance of the various programs and departments
• Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate statutory reporting requirements
• Keeps current with CRA and government policy regulations in the charitable sector
• Oversee general day-to-day functions of the finance department; ensuring the completion of the day-to-day financial activities including: bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, processing payables and posting cash receipts
