Ross McMaster Memorial Fund
Through loss comes hope for the futureRoss McMaster Memorial Fund supports major research project on the integrative biology of inflammatory diseases It has been a sad and difficult time since Ross died on February 24, 2009. His death has represented a significant loss to me, our three children, his brother, sister, parents and many friends and associates. He really was a unique and exceptional person and we miss him more than words can express. Thanks to a generous donation from a Thomas Weisel Partners fundraiser on March 4, 2009, and donations from our friends and family, we are proud to have set up the Ross McMaster Memorial Fund (RMMF) for Crohn’s and Colitis research through the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada. We know Ross would have been “all over this” as he was always one to want to make a difference and help others. To date the fund sits at almost $400,000. Working together with the CCFC we have chosen to fund a five-year research project led by Dr. John Rioux at the Montreal Heart Institute. His team will use an integrative biology approach to linking genetics to the biology of inflammatory diseases. Annual disbursements from the RMMF will supplement additional government support and total nearly $2.5 million over five years for this groundbreaking study. We will keep you posted on this page about the results of this study and other fundraising events. Thank you again for all your love and support. Click here to learn more on Legacy Giving |
