Other
Events
Thousands of dedicated and creative CCFC volunteers, members and
supporters across the country organize and participate in a variety
of innovative events to raise funds for medical research and raise
awareness of inflammatory bowel disease.
Teams of dedicated volunteers organize a wide variety of sports
tournaments – golf, hockey, skating – and other fundraisers
such as fashion shows, art auctions, Cruise for Crohn’s,
sunset brunches, raffles and bottle drives.
There is also a light spreading across the country that sparkles with the dedication and commitment of the volunteers who put together Galas in an effort to raise money for IBD research. Every year The Grocery Foundation also
partners with the CCFC to stage one of the most successful –
not to mention glamorous – fundraising galas in the country. The gala, also known as the SuperGala, is held in Toronto and attracts an audience of over 4,000.
Extremely talented and hardworking committees also work through
the year organizing the equally successful and glamorous All That
Glitters Galas in Toronto, Montreal Winnipeg and Halifax annually. In 2004, Canadian Pensions and Benefits Institute – Ontario Region (CPBI Ontario) partnered with the CCFC to plan a charity event for the pensions, benefits and investment industries – the Benefit Ball. The first annual Benefit Ball – An Evening of Casablanca – proved to be an overwhelming success and was followed by even better events: The Roaring Twenties (2006) and Carnevale di Venezia (2007).
