M&M Meat Shops Charity BBQ Day is the largest nation-wide BBQ event in Canada. Each year in May, thousands of volunteers and supporters come out to M&M Meat Shops locations across the country and have a great time serving up and eating tasty BBQ! In 2009, they raised $1.9 million, with all of the proceeds going to CCFC to fund IBD research!
M&M Meat Shops is a National Sponsor of our annual Heel 'n' Wheel-a-Thon. They also organize a number of local golf tournaments and other fundraising initiatives for CCFC at locations across the country.
M&M Grant in Aid of Research
Each year, M&M Meat Shops funds a three-year grant for vital IBD research. This year's recipient is: David Sigalet of the Alberta Children’s Hospital. His study will be funded from 2009-2012 and it will look into: Immune signaling pathways of glugacon-like Peptide 2 in the inflamed intestine.
